Chick lit author Bagshawe talks about `ugly duckling` glasses
03.09.2008
Women`s writer and politician Louise Bagshawe has revealed that the change from glasses to contact lenses in her teens changed her life.

The author of Glitz - her latest offering - admitted to being frugal in her own clothing purchases but researches glamorous fashion accessories for her writing.

"I was bullied at school and boys thought I was the most disgusting creature imaginable … It`s no exaggeration to say that contact lenses in my late teens changed my life overnight," she told the newspaper.

With apparent confidence, Ms Bagshawe has pursued careers in music and is now the Conservative candidate for Corby and East Northamptonshire.

She has written 12 books so far. Her first was called Career Girls.ADNFCR-1853-ID-18747964-ADNFCR
