Style advice given for sunglasses

By Emily Tait

Women who wear sunglasses to protect their eyes from the sun have also been given help on how to make sure they find the most flattering style for their faces.

On ITV"s website, Helen Boyle explained the current spring trends for 2009 and what best suits different face shapes.

While oval faces can take almost any style, people with round faces were advised to go for narrower frames and square or rectangular lenses.

If you have a square face, oval or round sunglasses will suit you but square frames will not be flattering.

Heart-shaped faces look best in frames that are wide or detailed at the top corners or aviators.

According to Ms Boyle, oversized, 70s and John Lennon style sunglasses frames are among this season"s trends.

In 2007, the Independent spoke to optometrist Ian Anderson, who warned of the damage ultraviolet light can do to eyes.

He stressed the importance of protecting eyes from UVA and UVB rays.
