Contact lens wearers have been urged to keep their lenses clean and follow their eye doctor"s advice.
In an article on Best Syndication, ePR Source explained that many problems associated with contact lens wearing are avoidable simply by taking proper care of lenses as instructed.
Wearers were urged to use only the contact lens solution that the opthalmologist recommends.
It may also be that contact lens problems are caused by lenses not being fitted properly or by using a product that does not suit the patient.
Such problems "can be easily resolved", the article stated.
Bausch & Lomb is currently running a promotion called Think Eyegiene to help contact lens wearers use their vision correction safely.
One of the aspects of the campaign is a short video to show people about proper eye care.
The campaign started late last year and also involves the use of a virtual optician to answer questions about eye health.
