A woman who uses new contact lenses which claim to improve vision while being worn overnight has said she is delighted with the results.
Li-san Heap told the Bury Times that the Ortho K contact lenses had changed her life and that she had been "shocked" at how well they appear to work.
"I just pop my specially-tailored lenses in at night and take them out when I wake up and I can see throughout the day," the office administrator said.
Ms Heap, who is short-sighted, said that she finds glasses inconvenient to wear, partly because she enjoys playing sports.
Bury-based optician Nick Howard said it was the "most exciting and innovative development" he had seen within contact lenses during his 30-year career.
According to Ortho K, the contact lenses "[reverse] the power of the cornea at the front of the eye" when worn overnight, correcting vision.
People who wish to try them should make an appointment with their optician to find out if they would suit the procedure.
Ortho K says that the contact lenses cost about the same price as wearing quality daily disposable lenses.
