A contact lens manufacturer has announced an investment and the creation of new jobs.
Daysoft, which makes disposable contact lenses, has taken on 35 new members of staff to be engineers, production technicians and other professionals.
It has made a £2.5 million investment in its headquarters in Lanarkshire, the Scotsman reported.
As well as upping its capacity for production, the money has been used to buy the building in Hamilton International Technology Park in Blantyre.
Previously, Daysoft had rented this site.
Founder of Daysoft Ron Hamilton, who is also its chairman, said business had been growing and said that it was "a great time to invest in our building and increase our staff levels".
Daysoft creates daily disposable lenses.
They are not designed for wearing more than once and should not be slept in.
According to the company, daily disposable lenses carry benefits such as eliminating the need for daily cleaning and health and safety advantages.
