Women who want their eye makeup to last have been advised to try using contact lens solution.
Beauty writer Gabrielle Long reported the suggestion, which was originally provided by makeup artists Diana Manzanares, in an article for the Examiner.
She recommended dipping a makeup brush into contact lens solution before using it to put on eyeshadow.
Bausch & Lomb ReNu Multiplus saline contact lens solution was the brand she urged people to use.
"The sodium chloride (aka salt) in the solution will make the shadow extra moist since salt retains water, giving the pigment staying power," Ms Long explained.
Based in New York, Ms Manzanares has worked on the makeup for a number of magazines and films.
She worked on the films Insidious and Deadbeat and has also worked on shoots for Paper magazine.
In addition, she has done the makeup for a number of models for commercial photo shoots.
