Eye makeup advice given to calendar girls

Eye makeup advice for older skin has been given by an expert.

The addition of Jerry Hall and June Brown to the West End cast of Calendar Girls has prompted advice for making up older eyes.

Hello magazine stresses the need for moisturiser, as skin can become drier over time.

Drier skin also benefits from liquid and cream cosmetics rather than powder.

Eyebrows can become thinner, like hair, but brow pencil and light brown eyeshadow can help to keep them defined.

Grey or brown eyeliner can be applied around the eyelashes to help accentuate eyes.

This was said to be especially useful if it is difficult to apply mascara.

Based on the film of the same name, Calendar Girls was inspired by the true story of the Women"s Institute of Yorkshire, who posed nude for a charity calendar.

The stage show"s cast includes Lynda Bellingham, Patricia Hodge and Sian Phillips.

It is being performed at the Noel Coward Theatre in St Martin"s Lane.
