Contact lens manufacturer Johnson & Johnson will be among the organisations represented at an optical conference to be held later this year.
It is one of several groups that is either returning after an absence of several years or appearing for the first time at the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) event.
Also attending is frame maker Luxottica, which is sponsoring the conference.
Northern Europe region director Andrea Dorigo told Optician Online: "This is a great opportunity to share our manufacturing knowledge with students taking part in the dispensing optician diploma."
The conference will take place in Brighton from October 3rd to the 5th.
Set up in 1986, ABDO now represents more than 5,000 qualified dispensing opticians in the UK.
It also covers 200 from abroad and 2,000 students from all over the world.
Among its aims is to help dispensing opticians, promote better education and training of them and encourage research within the sector.
