Contact lens giant Acuvue is offering a number of prizes as part of an advertising drive for a forthcoming movie.

As part of promotions for Whip It, Acuvue is holding a competition in which people can win contact lenses and film paraphernalia.

There are four first prizes available, each comprising a year"s worth of contact lenses as well as a book and autographed poster for Whip It.

Five second prizes are up for winning and five third place ones as well.

Whip It, a comedy drama, tells the story of Texan teenager Bliss Cavendar, who rejects life as a beauty pageant entrant, preferring instead to compete in roller derbies.

It is directed by Drew Barrymore and based on a novel by Shauna Cross, who also wrote the screenplay.

Bliss is played by Ellen Page, also known for her role in another comedy drama, Juno, in which she played a pregnant teenager.
