Unilens has begun selling a new type of monthly contact lens.
C-VUE Advanced Toric Multifocal Lenses can now be bought from professionals in the US.
The contact lenses, which are good for monthly wear, are aimed at correcting the vision of people who suffer from astigmatism and presbyopia.
Michael Pecora, chief executive of Unilens, said that the firm provides "outstanding specialty lens technology".
Unilens claims that the new contact lenses have am advanced capacity for remaining moist and comfortable in the eyes.
This is put down to a substance known as hioxifilcon D.
Unilens Vision recently reported its fiscal data for the quarter that ended in June.
Mr Pecora said that he was "very pleased" with the company"s performance, pointing out that the economic slump made it especially good.
The company posted a record income before tax of $3,001,179 (£1,893,303).
It equated to an increase of 13.8 per cent, the firm said.
