Fee reductions at BCLA conference

The four-day BCLA (British Contact Lens Association) Clinical Conference and Exhibition attracts a range of contact lens enthusiasts, from rookies to experts.

And this year practitioners who have qualified in the last ten years and attended for the first time paid just £175 to attend.

The offer was sponsored by contact lens manufacturer Johnson & Johnson Vision Care who paid first-time newly-qualified delegates" conference fee.

BCLA president William Thomas praised the appeal of the world"s largest event dedicated to contact lenses.

He said: "What makes the BCLA conference different is the chance to network with other professionals from the UK and around the world in a vibrant and varied social setting."

It is the world"s largest contact lenses event, attracting more than 1,000 visitors from the UK and overseas.

The BCLA is a registered charity and supplier of information and education on contact lenses. It has around 1,800 members worldwide and the conference attracts around 1,000 visitors every year.
