Contact lens wearers may benefit from a new building at the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) where eye care research will be carried out.
The Brehm Tower at the W K Kellogg Eye Centre Complex features seven eye care clinics with new suites for refractive surgery and cosmetic surgery.
It also houses laboratories for vision scientists, where they will foster discoveries in ophthalmology.
The Brehm Center for Diabetes Research will also be run in the tower, which covers 230,000 square feet and spans eight stories.
"Eye disease and diabetes both pose growing challenges to our nation"s health, and Kellogg and Brehm scientists will help us continue to lead the way in both fields," commented Ora Hirsch Pescovitz, executive vice president for medical affairs and chief executive officer of UMHS.
