Blind country singer Lorin Nicholson and his brother Dean are looking to raise funds to help them in their 4,000 km race across Australia on a tandem bicycle.
They are hoping to raise money to help those with visual impairment and are hoping to get $300,000 (£196,760) overall for their Blind Courage journey, the Sunshine Coast Daily has reported.
The country singer, his brother and his sister suffer from retinitis pigmentosa.
"We were taught to ignore to some degree the belief that just because we were blind didnt mean that we couldn"t do it," Lorin explained to the news provider.
The brothers will be joined by 2009 Australian masters track cycling bronze medallist John Eder and mountain biker Grant Williams on their fundraising trip.
A child recently received specialised equipment to help him with eyesight problems, following a fundraising appeal in local paper the Boston Target.
