Spring is known to be a frustrating time for allergy sufferers and even more so for those who wear contact lenses as well, research has indicated.
A survey carried out by the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America found that almost half (45 per cent) of contact lens wearers polled said their eye-related allergies often prevent them from wearing their contacts.
More than one in ten (12 per cent) said that they had to stop wearing their contact lenses because of allergies.
"Studies have shown that one-day contacts, such as 1-day Acuvue Moist Brand Contact Lenses can be a healthy and more comfortable option for any lens wearer, including those with eye allergies," commented Paul Karpecki, clinical director of the Koffler Vision Group, Lexington, Kentucky.
Acuvue says its 1-day Acuvue Moist Brand Contact Lenses are easy to put in and take out, while offering high UV protection as well, blocking more than 70 per cent UV-A and 95 per cent UV-B.
