As the biggest football tournament on the planet has kicked off, staff at one store are showing their support for England"s World Cup campaign by wearing special contact lenses.

The Clitheroe Advertiser and Times reported that employees at the Clitheroe"s branch of SPEX opticians are wearing contact lenses with a St George"s flag on them to support Fabio Capello"s men, who embarked on their World Cup odyssey against the USA on Saturday (June 12th).

"Soccer-crazy staff at the New Market Street branch – together with colleagues at SPEX branches in Burnley, Rawtenstall and Accrington – will be wearing the special contact lenses and England football kits to show their support for the England squad," the source explained.

The St George"s contact lenses are just one way in which the nation"s football fans are showing support for Steven Gerrard and his team, with people also painting houses, cars and their faces with the English flag.
