Leading contact lens manufacturer Bausch + Lomb has announced the appointment of Rodney Unsworth as the new president for its Asia-Pacific division.
Set to take up the position at the start of July, Mr Unsworth held a similar role at Schering-Plough for five years until its merger with Merck, where he led a performance turnaround in markets including China.
He will take on the responsibility from David Edwards, who has resigned from his position at the contact lens manufacturer to pursue other activities.
Brent Saunders, chief executive of Bausch + Lomb, said the new president for Asia-Pacific has a successful record of working in the region.
He added: "His counsel and leadership will be extremely valuable as we work to build Bausch + Lomb into a high-performance competitor in Asia and worldwide."
The manufacturer recently announced it is working all through the summer to raise awareness of the benefits of daily disposable contact lenses for children.
