Contact lens wearers in the UK are increasingly turning to daily disposables as their preferred product, a new report has suggested.
Euromonitor International"s Contact Lenses in United Kingdom report shows that daily disposals have markedly increased in popularity in the country in the last five years, with a compound annual growth rate of 22 per cent in the past five years.
As every major manufacturer now offers daily disposables as part of their product line, the report suggested that the popularity of the devices will likely increase at a similar rate in the coming five years.
"During the review period, the primary trend in the contact lens subsector was the continuing growth of sales of daily disposable lenses, driven by advances in technology and greatly increased levels of marketing, together with a series of price reductions," the report stated.
Meanwhile, according to Euromonitor International"s Contact Lenses in China report, the products are rapidly gaining in popularity as people seek a daily solution to their vision problems.
