There has been an increase in the number of people switching from spectacles to contact lenses in Sweden, a new report has revealed.
According to the Companies and Markets Contact Lenses in Sweden report, people are continuing to ditch their reading glasses in favour of wearing contact lenses, consistent with previous years of adoption.
The report states that the mounting need for vision correction is caused by the increasing use of computers, as the majority of Swedes use computers as a working tool and stare at a screen for most of the day.
"More Swedes needed vision correction and more spectacle users were using contact lenses as a complement during the review period, which resulted in increased sales of contact lenses in Sweden," the report concluded.
