The volume of contact lens sales across the planet is set to return to normal in the near future after being impacted slightly by the economic downturn, one source has predicted.
Michael Pecora, chief executive of Unilens Vision, said that the organisation's operating results for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2011 show that sales were impacted slightly.
However, as is the case with many global organisations in the industry, he predicted that sales will return to the growth seen in recent years in the near future.
"Meanwhile, we continue our efforts to develop new specialty contact lenses to take advantage of demographic trends that will increase the need for American baby boomers to address presbyopic vision problems," Mr Pecora added.
It comes after Saipan's Department of Public Health warned that there has been an increase in the number of mislabelled contact lenses being imported from unknown distributors in recent months, the Saipan Tribune reported.
