Eye holistic medicine "should not be depended on"

Eye holistic medicine "should not be depended on"

People should not rely on holistic medicine to avoid problems with their eyesight but this approach can be useful in some circumstances, it has been suggested.

According to a blog post on improve-your-eyesight.info, advocates of holistic medicine believe that this approach can prevent the majority of vision-related problems.

However, the source pointed out that many of the claims made by holistic medicine practitioners have not been verified by scientific studies and any possible benefits might not be experienced by everyone.

Despite this, the post said that some elements of holistic medicine can be successfully used to protect vision, such as performing exercises that strengthen the eyes.

"They could be simple things like holding a finger out in front of your eyes and moving it forwards and away … The other example of exercises can be standing still and scanning the room … with your eyes," it explained.

In a related article, research by the Joint Shantou International Eye Center of Shantou University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong claimed that acupuncture could effectively treat lazy eye in some patients.
