The popularity of scleral lenses, which help people with irregularly-shaped corneas, is continuing to increase, one source has pointed out.
According to a post on Live PR, scleral lenses, which are large-diameter, gas-permeable lenses that cover a larger part of the eye, are popular options among those who have had trouble finding lenses in the past.
"Scleral lenses extend over onto the white part of the eye.. New technology and materials have enabled these larger designs to provide improved vision and comfort," the source explained.
It added that keratoconus sufferers or those who have irregular corneas from an eye injury or surgery are among the beneficiaries.
According to a recent report, anybody who has experienced vision problems and not yet tried wearing contact lenses should give them a go, as the advent of the internet has made purchasing them much easier.
