One patient undergoing laser eye surgery to correct her vision has said that she is glad she took the step nearly two decades ago.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, Sarah Rylance explained how she was one of the first people to take advantage of the procedure when it first became available through Ultralase, the largest vision correction specialist in the UK.
Ms Rylance had had trouble with contact lenses and found glasses too cumbersome to wear before considering the treatment, which was in its early stages at the time.
However, she was more than pleased with the results.
"I woke up on the second night after the surgery and looked around and could see everything in my room so clearly for the first time I woke the whole house up laughing," she said.
Ultralase, whose first specialist clinic was set up in the Wirral back in 1991 and which has since greatly expanded to over 30 clinics throughout the UK and Ireland, is this year celebrating its 24th anniversary.
