Unilens Vision has posted its third quarter sales and net figures, which shows an increase in sales largely driven by custom soft lens sales.
These have risen by 34 per cent which the company claims is due to successful new product launches.
Overall, the data shows that in the three months to March 31st 2011, total revenue including royalty income fell by 4.4 per cent to approximately $2.2 million (£ 1.6 million), compared with $2.3 million in the three months to March 31st 2010.
However, declines in sales of disposable contact lenses and other lens categories was "more than offset" by increased sales of its custom soft lenses during the quarter, the firm claims.
In February, the specialty contact lens manufacturer Unilens Vision announced that its revenues fell by 2.6 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2010 to reach around $2.1 million, with sales dropping by 1.5 per cent over the same period.
