Contact lens manufacturer SynergEyes has announced the launch of a new patient-focused video about astigmatism to help people better understand the condition.
The video explains both the condition and how the company's second-generation silicone hydrogel hybrid contact lens, Duette, can help to improve the vision of people suffering from the eye condition.
Kellie Kaseburg, vice president of global marketing for SynergEyes, said the rollout of the lenses represents the "movement" of hybrid contact lens technology from treating irregular corneas to providing an alternative to soft toric lenses.
"Adding information about [the lens] to the allows practitioners to educate their patients on this exciting new contact lens technology," she added
Meanwhile, Dr Margaret Ritterbusch, an eye specialist at Outlook EyeCare, said that she has seen "tremendous" success with SynergEyes' new ClearKone lens for patients with irregular corneas, particularly keratoconus sufferers, with demand for the lenses remaining extremely high since the launch of the products last year.
