Singer and TV presenter Jane McDonald has revealed how she turned to a new type of surgery in order to cure her failing vision.
In an interview with the Mirror, the Loose Women presenter and former star of The Cruise spoke of how presbyopia was slowly taking her eyesight away and even glasses and contact lenses were struggling to help correct the condition.
As she was not fond of the idea of laser eye surgery, McDonald revealed how she turned to a type of microsurgery known as ReSTORE, which proved to be effective.
According to the singer, having her presbyopia fixed is "the best thing she has ever done" and was a great success.
Meanwhile, recent research carried out by the University of Texas Health Science Center and published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that a single injection of Avastin may be more effective at preventing eye disease than laser eye surgery.
