The laser eye surgery market in the UK is currently going strong and is proving particularly fruitful for one organisation.
That is according to Ultralase, which has said that the success rate of its procedures are now higher than ever before, with 99.1 per cent of patients treated last year achieving driving standard vision or better, which is an increase on the 98.2 per cent who reported the same the year before.
In addition, there was five per cent growth in revenues to £42.3 million for the full year, up from £40.3 million in 2009, with sales rising eight per cent in its core refractive business.
Ultralase chief executive Tony Veverka said that while overall market conditions remain "challenging", the latest figures are a "clear indication" that the company is boosting its market share.
"Our performance year on year and in the context of our competitors remains strong and is testimony to our growth strategy and continued investment in our clinical team and advanced technology," he added.
