It is very important that people who will be spending a lot of time outdoors this summer take steps to protect their eyes from the sun's rays, one expert has warned.
According to Dr Val Jones, chief executive of Better Health, a network of health bloggers, the dangers of UV rays are not fully understood by many people and for this reason it is vital to protect sight.
With the warm weather and sunny skies set to continue in the weeks ahead, many people will be heading outdoors, so it is necessary for them to wear a hat, sunglasses with UV protection and also UV contact lenses, if they have them, the expert noted.
Wearing UV contact lenses along with sunglasses offers further protection and can ensure people enjoy the sun without their vision suffering, she noted.
It comes after Johnson & Johnson Vision Care recently unveiled the 1-Day Acuvue Define Range, which the company claims can offer protection against the sun's harmful UV rays.
