Contact lens manufactures are likely to perform well in the stock markets in the coming months and years, as healthcare organisations perform robustly, it has been claimed.
According to a group of Robert W Baird & Co analysts, major healthcare suppliers, including those which manufacture contact lenses, will be among the top-performing stocks later this year, Business Week reported.
"The analysts said healthcare technology companies and companies that sell medical products like contact lenses and dental products are likely to outperform the rest of the sector," the source stated.
It added that recent healthcare reforms in the US affected the stability of the market but this looks set to steady in the near future.
Recent data compiled by the Association of Contact Lens Manufacturers and seen by Optician Online showed that the British contact lens market expanded by seven per cent last year, compared with 2009, and now stands at a total of £219.5 million.
