Blind boy is the face of new Sense campaign

A three-year-old boy who is blind and suffers from hearing difficulties has been chosen by a charity to front a Christmas fundraising campaign.

Deafblind charity Sense has selected Kian Murphy to be the face of its seasonal appeal.

He features in a letter from Sense worker Sally Scuffham being sent to supporters, in which is mother, Sam, calls him "a right little fighter".

The child also appears on the charity"s website.

Kian contracted meningitis when he was just a few days old, leaving his sight and hearing damaged and paralysing him down his right hand side.

Ms Scuffham"s letter quotes Kian"s mother saying: "Before Sense came along, I was confused but now I feel Kian has a future we can both look forward to."
