People need to regularly ensure that their contact lens prescriptions are updated to make sure they are using the correct lenses, one expert has advised.
Raymund Song, senior professional service manager at global contact lens manufacturer Bausch + Lomb, told Asia One that the advice seems obvious but many people are using the incorrect contact lenses.
This can include the wrong type for the person for example a lens which is not well-suited to their requirements or simply one with an incorrect prescription for their vision quality, he noted.
"We cannot base on comfort alone to determine if a pair of lens is suitable for us. It is only after being assessed by an optometrist on the lens fitting that a pair of suitable lenses can be recommended," Dr Song added
Recently, Chidambara Pillai, chairman of the British Society for Refractive Surgery, told the Express that the quality of lenses that are now available has improved.
He added that even those complex and strong prescriptions that were previously untreatable are now able to undergo "dramatic" improvements.
