Contact lens manufacturer Bausch + Lomb has announced the appointment of a new global president of vision care as it looks to boost its international operations.
Sheila Hopkins will assume the role, while two existing senior executives – Peter Valenti III and Steven Robins – have been promoted to North American vision care president and vice president and chief marketing officer of global vision care, respectively.
In her new role, Ms Hopkins will oversee the company's contact lens and lens care product offerings, which include such well-known brand names as Biotrue, PureVision and renu, and said she is excited about the development.
"We have an iconic brand, a robust portfolio of innovative products and an inspiring mission that together hold great promise for consumers and professionals around the world," she added.
Brent L. Saunders, chief executive officer, Bausch + Lomb, added that the company is in the midst of an "exciting transformation" and the appointments help the firm to maximise the potential of the existing products.
