A man who underwent laser surgery to correct his sight has professed the process "life enhancing".
Writing in the Sunday Sun, Robert Weatherall described the procedure, including the tests he had to undergo beforehand and a one-to-one session with an adviser.
After the process, which he said took 20 seconds for each eye, he went home and slept for several hours.
"When I woke up I could not only see the light switch on the other side of the room, but the head of each screw holding it to the wall," he wrote.
Mr Weatherall was also pleased that he could see in the shower and have clear vision upon waking.
Contact lenses are an alternative for correcting vision.
Acuvue, whose contact lenses include 1 Day Acuvue, says that soft lenses can become so comfortable that wearers do not even feel them and that they can take minutes for the user to feel accustomed to them.
