B+L aims to boost internal performance

Contact lens manufacturer Bausch + Lomb (B+L) has announced it has gone live with the first phase of a full suite adoption to the ContractSphere v7 strategic software platform though contract performance solutions provider iMANY.

B+L, which specialises in contact lenses and lens care products, ophthalmic surgical devices and instruments, and ophthalmic pharmaceuticals has partnered with iMANY since 1998 when managing and automating complex contracts and this is the latest step in the partnership.

Lisa Glazer, director for contracts at B+L, said that moving to the full suite of ContractSphere software supports the company's "strategic plans" for continued growth and success.

This can be achieved through providing an integrated solution that manages the entire contract lifecycle process, including contract authoring, rebates and chargebacks, as well as data validation, government pricing, regulatory compliance and business analytics, she added.

The iMANY ContractSphere is a purpose-built platform which is based on open and modular service-oriented architecture and leverages a shared data model and services.

According to iMANY, it combines best-in-class scalability and performance, high usability and breadth of functionality, allowing companies to "meet the rapidly growing and evolving needs" of contracting and compliance strategies.

Al Smith, president and chief operating officer at iMANY, commented: "As an industry leader, Bausch + Lomb understands the long-term value of a strategic platform and the critical importance of planning for future regulatory changes."

He explained that they will be able to respond to emerging regulations, while remaining "agile and flexible with a strategic platform that encapsulates industry best practices".
