It"s "all about the eyes" this season

It"s "all about the eyes" this season

Before women start shopping for their Christmas party dress this year, they should first think about what eye makeup they are likely to be wearing, according to one expert.

Jules Cardozo-Marsh, who has established herself as one of the most highly regarded makeup artists in the UK, said that women need to take care to ensure their eyes look right this season, though they should complement the whole face.

The expert said "you can't go wrong" with the classic smokey eye to suit all occasions, and is also the safest look to go for to suit any outfit.

Using a finger, she advised people to load a pearly cream eyeshadow onto the upper lid to create an "illuminating base", and then carefully blend a dark shade of choice over the entire eyelid with a soft eyeshadow brush, before blending into the socket for "deep, sultry eyes".

This can then be completed with a slick of lavera Double Black Mascara, Ms Cardozo-Marsh recommends.

"Alternatively, colourful Andy Warhol-esque jewel colours packed over the entire eyelid offer a fun and modern alternative to festive smokey eyes," she explained.

"Simply pack on a jewel-coloured powder eyeshadow of your choice over the entire lid, ensuring to avoid blending for a more impactful finish."

Women should then layer on until they have created the preferred density, then begin sweeping colour above the socket line, at the outer corner and under your lower lash line, for a more "expressive, feline shape", the expert advises.

The whole look should be completed with some stunning lipstick, which will complement the eyes perfectly, Ms Cardozo-Marsh says.

She also explained that berry-stained lips are the perfect choice for the festive season, for a sophisticated 1940s style.

Furthermore, as the look is more of a "natural smudge for a plush, bitten lips look", women do not need to worry about their lipstick fading while drinking and eating, she concluded.
