Eye creams that claim to do amazing things to people"s skin and boost their appearance are not necessarily the be all and end all when it comes to solving skincare issues, it has been claimed.
Jane Druker, a health and beauty expert, said that although most people find an eye cream or gel works to soothe the delicate eye area and can help prevent wrinkles, it does not work for everyone.
She elaborated: "Personally, it doesn"t work for me. I actually avoid putting anything around my eyes, as the skin is so thin there you can actually absorb creams and end up puffier!"
The expert added that if she wakes up with inflamed eyes she makes a compress, either a cold chamomile tea bag or a cube of ice in a tissue, and places it on her eyes for five minutes, which leads to a "brighter, soothed eye area".
Her comments followed the publication of a clinical study carried out by Adonia Organics as part of the development of its Eye Therapy treatment cream, which found that women"s eyes look older during the winter.
