A woman from California who was slowly losing her sight due to a tumour on her brain has successfully undergone an operation to remove the growth and help restore her vision.
Linda Horton-Lyons told the Paradise Post that she underwent the operation two weeks ago after the condition worsened before she was able to raise the funds to undergo the procedure.
Her husband Paul Lyons told the newspaper that the doctors decided it was more important to focus on getting her vision back than the matter of the cost of the procedure, as the risk was that she would go completely blind and never recover.
He explained that although the procedure should have taken in the region of 12 hours, it had been completed and the tumour recovery carried out within five.
"It was almost like a miracle. Each day she was getting better and better. She's back to the woman I married," Mr Lyons said.
