Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has become the latest in a long line of celebrities to undergo laser eye surgery, it has been reported.
According to the Daily Mirror, Richards, who has been rocking with the Stones for five decades, decided to undergo the procedure to boost his vision and reduce the need to wear glasses.
One source close to the guitarists told the newspaper: "He's music's ultimate survivor but not even the seemingly immortal Keith Richards can stop the march of time. It was a harmless, quick procedure and he's very happy with the results."
Richards reportedly had the operation done before Christmas and wore an eye patch for a few days while he was recovering from the procedure.
He is certainly not the first rocker to undergo laser eye surgery, with former Yes musician Rick Wakeman having laser eye surgery in 2006 and reporting that he had regained 95 per cent of his sight following the procedure.
