Contact lenses have enabled a star baseball player to take his game to the next level and benefit from vastly improved form.
Hagerstown Suns centre fielder and Washington Nationals top draft pick Bryce Harper realised that his eyesight was not as good as it could have been and considered the vision correction options that could help him to improve his performances, WTOP.com reported.
He opted to go for contact lenses, and with the prescription of the lenses came an improvement in form, resulting in him catching the eye of a number of top teams and being unearthed as arguably Washington's top prospect.
"Since getting new contact lenses, the Nationals teenager is even more of a sight to behold, tearing up Single A ball in his inevitable march to the big leagues," the website said.
Harper is not the only baseball player to benefit from wearing contact lenses on the field of play, as Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton has also found that contacts helped to improve his performances by blocking out the glare of the sun.
