No 7 Contact Lenses Introduces New ICD Lenses For Corneal Issues

People with corneal issues will soon have a new brand of contact lenses to choose from. No 7 Contact Lenses has announced its new ICD FlexFit scleral lenses specifically designed for people with irregularly shaped corneas.

One of the head designers of these new contacts is Randy Kojima, the current development director at Precision Technology Services. Mr. Kojima showed off No 7's hot new product at a recent event in London's Shard building.

Just a few of the corneal issues these lenses could help address include keratoconus, ocular surface disease, and pellucid marginal degeneration. Mr. Kojima also noted that these lenses would work well in people who have corneal transplants and patients with post-refractive surgery issues.

Doctors at the presentation event seemed very excited by this new product. The ICD FlexFit lenses will dramatically cut down on chair time and give patients a more effective and better fitting contact lens experience.

Ben Dalton, an independent optometrist at the Shard event, tried the scleral lenses on for himself. He said that the lenses were extremely comfortable and that he can't wait to incorporate them into his professional practice.

Another optometrist at this London event was Bronagh Clarke, an optometrist in Moorfields Eye Hospital. Clarke told reporters that, "The lens is simple to useā€¦and I know that for any trouble-shooting I can just call No 7."

The FlexFit scleral lenses will be the fourth in No 7 Contact Lenses' ICD line. The company began producing ICD lenses in 2009.

Before working at Precision Technology Service, Randy Kojima worked as a clinical advisor at Medmont and a research scientist at Pacific University. He has many publications to his name and is a Fellow of both the Orthokeratology Academy of America and the American Academy of Optometry. He received his education at the University of British Columbia.
