It is "never too soon" to start taking action to preserve eye health, it has been claimed.
According to Dr Warren Harvard Low, a physician based in California, it can be beneficial to consider the types of vitamins and nutrients being included in daily diets to ensure that eyesight does not suffer any adverse effects that could be prevented.
"No matter what your age, it"s never too soon to start taking proactive measures in the area of nutrition to help maintain good eyesight for life," he remarked.
According to Sun Chlorella USA, studies have shown that vitamins C and E, as well as lutein and zeaxanthin, could help to promote good eye health if foods rich in these nutrients are consumed regularly.
Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits, while Vitamin E tends to be found in nuts and seeds and lutein and zeaxanthin occur in foods that have green or yellow pigments.
Flaxseed oil may be particularly beneficial to treat dry eye, according to All About Vision.
