Coloured contact lenses help star with film role

By Emily Tait

A Bollywood film star got into her latest role by wearing coloured contact lenses, she has revealed.

Bipahsa Basu told One India that she wore green coloured contact lenses to prepare for playing a character called Aziza in her latest movie, something she quickly got used to.

She explained that director of photography Jamie Fowlds insisted that she wore green contact lenses to make the part as authentic as possible, but this was no hardship as she is used to it and it helped her to embrace the part.

Basu told the source: "I wear green contact lenses for the film. I am used to wearing contact lenses in films but I have to say the green contact lenses looked really good."

Meanwhile, Jackie Earle Haley, who plays the iconic role of Freddy Krueger in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, revealed that special contact lenses helped him to transform into the razor-fingered bogeyman.
