Handling contact lenses correctly "is vital"

It is vital for contact lenses to be handled correctly so that users do not fall foul of poor hygiene, one source has warned.

Ben Johnson, writing for Elite Article Dictionary, said that keeping contact lenses clean and storing them properly are the two major safety aspects of the products, advising people to use the correct solution and follow manufacturer instructions at all times.

"Contact lenses are a great investment for anyone who needs vision correction, although you'll need to take care of them. Whether you wear soft or hard contacts, you'll need to clean them on a regular basis," the source stated.

It added that people should examine their lenses regularly for defects to ensure they are perfect before inserting them.

Recently, the RAK Hospital said that young contact lens wearers should take care when handling the products as there have been a number of infections recently due to poor handling and storage practices.
