Eye safety is something which athletes might want to keep in mind when undertaking sporting activities in the months and years to come, one commentator has suggested.
According to the D"Ambrosio Eye Care medical director, Francis A D"Ambrosio Jr, people"s lives can actually be changed quite markedly if they suffer from certain types of eye injury.
He stated: "Athletes need to choose and wear proper protective eyewear because eye injuries can be devastating."
Cornea abrasions are among the potential injuries which athletes might endure if they are not careful, the expert went on to say, along with things like retinal detachments.
When it comes to the health of people"s eyes, David Wright, chief executive of the International Glaucoma Association, recently noted some of the foods which people could eat to try and improve their condition.
These items include things like oily fish and green leafy vegetables, Mr Wright remarked.
