Robert Pattinson, star of hit film and book series Twilight, has revealed that he will not miss the contract lenses used on set the most.

The Edward Cullen actor made the confession at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con, industry website HitFix has revealed.

He explained that while he experienced mixed feelings about the saga coming to an end, the unusual contact lenses he needed to wear in order to appear to have a vampire's gaze are something he will not miss.

During filming, he was required to wear both golden contact lenses and, when his vampire character is hungry, black ones.

Pattinson said that he will also not be upset in leaving Canada, where much of the filming took place, although he admits he enjoyed shooting some of the series' scenes in the Virgin Islands.

Earlier this month, Shekhar Eye Research announced that they had taken the gold contact lens one step further and created the eye-wear from the metal itself.

Chandrashekhar Chawan, managing director of the firm, said that there has been a great deal of interest in the new eye-wear.
