Those looking to keep up-to-date with the latest sunglasses trends should take inspiration from some of the most popular celebrities, an expert has claimed.
Colette Ali, an image consultant, has highlighted the benefits of drawing style ideas from famous faces, who provide a recognisable but fantastic source to work from.
She advised men to look at classic actors this season and picked out Steve McQueen as an excellent place to start, saying that he looked fantastic in his shades.
Women are also asked to look back at some of the classic, iconic sunglasses-wearing faces of the last century.
Ms Ali highlighted the look adopted by Audrey Hepburn as an excellent starting place, but also picked out Jackie Kennedy as an unlikely but stylish source of fashion ideas.
She emphasised the fact that sunglasses are not just for the summer months and described them as a great choice for much of the year.
"Personally, I wouldn't wear them all year round - if it's raining and if its indoors - I know some people do but it's down to personal choice. But personally, I'd just wear them for spring, summer and maybe autumn months," she said.
Ms Ali added that even in winter there are times where sunglasses are still extremely suitable for fashionistas.
Where it is a bright, sunny day it is the right time to sport a pair of shades, she said, highlighting the many uses of the glasses as justification.
She emphasised the protective qualities that sunglasses provide, suggesting that they protect the eyes from strong sunlight and UV rays.
Earlier this month, Dr Susan Blakeney, optometric adviser at the College of Optometrists, highlighted the important role that sunglasses play in protecting the eyes.
She emphasised the importance of searching for a pair that offers a high degree of sun protection – which is especially important for those under the age of 18.
