A number of money-saving tips have been offered to people looking to cut the cost when it comes to eye tests and purchasing contact lenses in the coming weeks and months.
Frugal Family, writing for Path.com, said that one great way to save cash is by buying contact lenses online, as they are often far cheaper than in a shop.
Taking advantage of free or reduced eye tests is also a great way of gaining a prescription in the first place, while people also need to be aware of any repair or replacement plans for glasses or contacts lenses, the source advised.
It also advised people to be on the look-out for any special offers being provided by the contact lens retailers.
Meanwhile, Dr Lil Linton, president of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, recently told the Times Transcript that "you get what you pay for" when it comes to buying contact lenses online, with the reputable stores with an established name far more reliable.
