A doctor has given advice to people who may still be suffering from the after-effects of viral conjunctivitis.
Dr Wang Jenn Chyuan, writing in response to a query sent to the Straits Times, said that dry eyes, itching and blurred vision after using a computer are all things that can linger after conjunctivitis has gone due to disruption of the mechanism that produces tears.
If this occurs, he suggests that sufferers remove their contact lenses and apply artificial tears liberally and regularly until the problems are resolved.
"Should the symptoms persist, a visit to your eye doctor may be needed. This is to exclude complications from inflammation or other infections," Dr Chyuan advised.
