A make-up artist has offered help for bringing eyes to their best advantage.
Speaking to Scottish newspaper the Daily Record, Monica Woodhouse, No7 make-up specialist from Boots in Princes Street, Edinburgh, stressed the importance of using concealer properly in the eye area.
For this delicate spot, lighter concealer is best, as heavier ones "can emphasise lines and wrinkles".
A gentle look is best for eyes in the daytime and Ms Woodhouse suggested natural shades and sparing use of eyeliners.
Eyeshadow needs to be put on to a "nice clean eye" and Ms Woodhouse suggested using some base in order to keep the makeup lasting longer.
Those who really like to look natural could try a "neutral wash of colour" with a small amount of liner or mascara.
Contact lens wearers should opt for waterproof eyeliner and mascara, according to essortment.com.
This will help prevent the look being ruined if eyes begin to water.
