Once the Contact Lens Fitter and Customer are satisfied with the fitting of the contact lenses, the fitting is complete and the Contact Lens Fitter must give the customer  a `signed, written specification of each lens fitted, sufficient to enable the lens to be supplied elsewhere`

The College of Optometrists believes this fitting period should not exceed three months. If the fitting period is significantly longer than three months, the Contact Lens Fitter should be able to justify a longer period.
