The General Optical Council (GOC) states that contact lens suppliers must ensure customers receive appropriate aftercare for safe lens wear. This means providing customers with guidance on lens use, hygiene and what to do if problems arise. We uphold these standards by offering comprehensive aftercare with every single purchase that is made on our website.


What We Provide:

Personalised Aftercare Guide: With every order, you receive a detailed aftercare email from our optometrist. It covers how to insert, remove and care for your lenses, wearing schedules, cleaning routines and when to replace your lenses and glasses too.

Hygiene & Safety Tips: We include critical advice on lens hygiene (e.g. always having clean hands, proper solution use, etc) and warning signs to watch for (redness, pain, blurred vision). This aligns with the GOC’s definition of aftercare, which includes teaching patients to identify signs of infection.

Instructional Videos: Our online Eye Care Hub features videos on lens insertion and removal techniques so you can learn proper handling step by step at home.

Contact Our Optometrist: Through the “Ask Our Optometrist” feature in your account area, you have direct access to a qualified Optometrist for any lens or eye health questions. You are encouraged to reach out if you experience discomfort, redness or any issue whatsoever. We’re here to help, just as your local optician would.

Aftercare Quizzes & Learning: We offer really fun aftercare quizzes that not only test your knowledge but also reinforce best practices for lens care. (As a bonus, you earn loyalty points for completing these).

Proactive Monitoring of Orders: Uniquely, our system monitors your prescription and order history for your safety. We track over a dozen criteria with each order to spot potential red flags. If something looks concerning, our Optometrist will review it and we’ll send you personalised recommendations such as a reminder to have an eye test if your prescription changed by more than 0.50D in 6 months or advice on proper lens replacement if you’re reordering too soon.

Eye Health Content Hub: Our Eye Health Central education portal (written by our Optometrist) is packed with articles on aftercare, eye health and common lens issues. We guide you on everything from dealing with dry eyes to the importance of regular check-ups. These resources are freely available so you can stay informed about safe lens wear. 

Follow up and Ongoing Support: We don’t just sell and forget. After your purchase, you will have detailed professional follow-up exclusively for all our customers via your account log in. We send follow up emails with reminders about lens replacement schedules and aftercare tips. We also clearly advise that if you experience any persistent pain, redness or any vision changes at all, you should seek professional care immediately (either by contacting our Optometrist or your local eye doctor). In fact, GOC guidance emphasises advising customers to get professional help if they notice problems, and we make sure to communicate that at every step. 

We provide these services in accordance with Section 27(3B) of the Opticians Act 1989 and GOC standards, which makes aftercare an integral part of contact lens supply. UK regulations require any contact lens seller to make arrangements for the buyer to receive aftercare. Our aftercare program fulfils this legal obligation and goes even further to keep your eyes healthy.
